But sales are concentrated in Europe, despite the fact that future growth will be created in new markets. Support to cultural cooperation has always been an important component of Sweden's development policy. There has recently been a reduction in cultural cooperation. This reduction is the result of a number of different factors, such as a reduction in the number of partner countries and that partner countries set different priorities. Another factor is that culture is now included in other areas and measures.
"The Government is seriously concerned about today's judgment against the two Swedish journalists Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson in Addis Abeba.

"Our starting point is and remains that they have been in the country on a journalistic mission. They should be freed as soon as possible and be able to rejoin their families in Sweden.
"We are examining the judgement and the situation also in consultation with the journalists and their families.
"But we are already making high-level contact with the Ethiopian government in this matter."

The EU must take a tougher line against Belarus

Today it is one year since Lukashenko's regime brutally hit out at peaceful demonstrators in Belarus following the rigged presidential election of 19 December 2010. To mark this anniversary, the foreign ministers of Sweden, the United Kingdom, Poland and Germany have joined forces. In an opinion piece published in several European newspapers today, they maintain that tougher EU sanctions are required against those responsible for the hardening repression in Belarus and that the EU must continue to strengthen its commitment to democratic forces in the country.
