New Ambassador in Khartoum
The Government today appointed Jan Sadek as Sweden's Ambassador in Khartoum, Sudan.
Jan Sadek is currently Head of Group at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Department for Consular Affairs and Civil Law. He has previously served at Sweden's embassies in Moscow and Prague, and at the section office in Minsk.
In December 2007, the Government decided to establish an embassy in Khartoum. A permanent diplomatic presence in Sudan will enable Sweden to act more forcefully in peace and conflict management missions in Sudan.
