Communications Secretariat for Sweden's EU Presidency 2009 (COM-09)
The Government sees the Presidency as a unique opportunity to increase interest in the EU in Sweden and show how EU issues affect people's day-to-day lives. The Government Offices have therefore created a special secretariat to coordinate communications during the Presidency.
Director Kristina Zetterström
These communication activities will help ensure an effective and successful Presidency. They will also increase awareness of the Government's EU activities, encourage dialogue on the issues and show the connection between the EU and people's day-to-day lives. This also involves demonstrating the advantages of EU membership in Sweden and projecting a positive image of Sweden in the EU, and of the Swedish Presidency in other countries.
