Competent Swedish authorities

The Swedish agencies appointed as competent authorities with duties under Regulation (EC) No 194/2008 or directly under Swedish legislation are listed below. Their tasks may include dealing with applications for authorisation or exemptions or receiving information about frozen accounts.

  • Swedish Agency for Non-Proliferation and Export Controls (ISP), (Articles 4, 9(1) and 9(3)
  • Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Articles 12 and 16)
  • Försäkringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Article 13)
  • National Board of Trade (Articles 5, 8 and 9(2)

The task described in Article 15(7) is carried out by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The Swedish Migration Board and Sweden´s missions abroad are responsible for applying travel restrictions.
