Fredrik Reinfeldt to receive Herman Van Rompuy
On Thursday 14 January, Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt will meet President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy for talks.
The agenda includes discussions on the economic situation and the future EU growth strategy (the '2020 strategy'), follow-up of the UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen and the European Council's meetings on the basis of the Treaty of Lisbon. Other issues of common interest may also be discussed.
On 19 November 2009, during the Swedish Presidency, Herman Van Rompuy became the first President of the European Council to be chosen in line under the Treaty of Lisbon. He took up his position on 1 January 2010.
