Four new Ambassadors to Stockholm

The Ambassadors of Finland, Latvia, Vietnam and Afghanistan will present their letters of credence to HM The King today, Friday 19 March.

Finland's newly appointed Ambassador Markus Lyra was born in 1945. He began his career in the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1973. His posts there include Unde-Secretary of State and Deputy Director-General of the Political Department. In the mid-1990s, Mr Lyra was Ambassador in Moscow.

Latvia's newly appointed Ambassador Maija Manika was born in 1969 and has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1993, mainly with international economic relations. During the last ten years she has been Head of the Economic Policy and Cooperation Directorate, and has held the post of Deputy Secretary of State. She has also been Ambassador to the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, stationed in Riga.

Vietnam's newly appointed Ambassador Nguyen Duc Hoa was born in 1958 and has served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1981. During the past ten years he has held the post of Deputy Director of the Department of Policy Planning and has been stationed as Minister Counsellor at Vietnam's Embassy in the UK.

Afghanistan's newly appointed Ambassador Manizha Bakhtari is concurrently accredited from Oslo. She was born in 1972 and has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2008. Her post at the ministry was that of Chief of Staff. Ms Bakhtari has also worked as Assistant Professor and Lecturer at the Journalism Faculty, Kabul University, and has been Editor-in-Chief of a literary magazine.
