The Judicial Office

The Judicial Office is part of the Office of Swedish Ambassadors Stationed in Stockholm (KSS) at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and assists the public with certain certificates.

The Office legalises Swedish documents that are requested by or are to be presented to a foreign authority. A legalisation certificate is a stamp confirming that a signature on a document is genuine.

As of 1 January 2005, the Judicial Office at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs no longer issues apostille stamps. After that date, only Notary Publics may issue apostilles.

No changes have been made when it comes to legalisation certificates, which the Judicial Office will continue to issue.

Please pay by credit card. As of 1 August 2011 the cost will be 180 SEK per legalisation.
