This film shows some examples of sustainable technical solutions from innovative companies from different
parts of the world. The film has been put together using excerpts from existing films from innovative
companies. Many other companies are also working on new ideas and sustainable solutions. This is just a
sample of solutions in selected fields.

Recupyl: Hydrometallurgy is the basis of the processes which Recupyl employs to treat used batteries and other hazardous wastes. The metals are extracted, purified, returned to concentrated form and then transformed into a reusable metallic state again. www.recupyl.com

TaKaDu: With up to 30 percent of clean water lost in leaking transportation pipes, TaKaDu uses advanced algorithms to detect when pipes are carrying less water than expected and may be leaking. Getting the data on pipe performance requires analysis of smart meter and smart grid information. www.takadu.com

Isomet: Solar Bakery in Burkina Faso uses a solar panel to heat its oven. The bakery bakes 1000 breads a day with solar energy. www.isomet-bf.com

Solvatten: Solvatten is a household water treatment unit that makes unsafe water drinkable by using solar energy. Put Solvatten in a sunny place, give it 2-6 hours and the water will be drinkable. This can produce up to 20-30 litres clean water per day. www.solvatten.se

OrganoWood: The wood treatment concept used in the OrganoWood" products give the treated wood protection against rot and give the treated wood effective flame retardant properties. OrganoWood" provides a new natural and non-toxic wood modification technology. www.organowood.com

Renetech: The main energy source for cooking in tropical Africa, un-sustainably harvested biomass, is depleting. Renetech develops solutions for renewable production of fuels for cooking and transport. www.renetech.net

Envac: Instead of servicing numerous litter bins individually, the company Envac has solved part of the challenge of waste management in Stockholm by installing self-emptying bins. The litter is emptied directly from the bins into an underground container that can then be emptied less frequently. www.envac.se
