Carl Bildt on North Korea
I have received news indicating that, with all probability, North Korea has detonated a nuclear explosive device a few hours ago.
It is alarming that the North Korean regime continues to provoke the international community.
In a poor, oppressed society, this extremely closed regime is investing enormous resources on these increasingly serious provocations.
There is every reason to fear that the chances of dealing with the growing economic and social problems in North Korea will now be further hampered.
