Microformat and P3P

The Government and Government Offices' websites www.regeringen.se and www.government.se follow the guidelines set in Vägledningen 24-timmarswebben (National guidelines for public sector websites). Content is validated XHTML 1.0 Strict, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 2.0.

Microformat

The website uses microformat for contact information and calendar events. Microformat is used to label common information such as contact information, calendar events, licence information and key words. Unlike formats such as vCalendar and vCard, microformat is a way to label information directly in the HTML code. Future versions of web browsers will probably be able to read microformat and so provide users with such options as being able to register events and contact information in their own calendars or address books. A similar development has already occurred regarding RSS.

P3P

The website uses a P3P policy to give users control over how personal information is used and saved on the website. P3P stands for the Platform for Privacy Preferences Project and is a standard developed by W3C, the World Wide Web Consortium.
