Successful development cooperation with the West Bank and Gaza presupposes the existence of a political peace process that is based on international law and that has as its goal a permanent solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the establishment of a Palestinian state. The
specific objectives of Swedish development cooperation with the West Bank and Gaza, therefore, are to promote peacebuilding and the peace process and to promote democratic Palestinian state-building.
